What Makes Hidden Creek Different

A beautiful, new-construction manufactured home for sale in Holland, MI

Hidden Creek is the best of several worlds when it comes to retirement communities. New homes feature large, 2-bedroom, 2-bath floor plans and attached garages, driveways, and private yards. And best of all, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere means you can dive right into the best of retirement life from day one.

What Is an Active Adult Community?

Unlike senior living apartments and other 55+ arrangements, in an active adult community, you own your home, have your own outdoor space, and live life completely on your terms. But because the neighborhood is only open to those 55 and older, you get the built-in ease of friendship that comes with living among people in the same stage of life.

And because Hidden Creek is a Bayshore manufactured home community, residents also enjoy a lot more outside their front door, too: great amenities, plenty of community events, and the support of a truly dedicated on-site management team.

Hidden Creek: A Connected & Caring Community

Hidden Creek is the kind of community where residents can't wait to get together. Every Bayshore community comes with a full social calendar of monthly events and seasonal gatherings. But at Hidden Creek, residents take it a step further.

Twice-weekly workout sessions, regular bingo nights, and a neighborhood book club are all resident-organized, on top of everything RHP already has planned. Nobody's left wondering what's going on or looking for something to do. Here, staying connected just comes naturally.

What Hidden Creek Offers

The beautiful clubhouse at Hidden Creek home community in Holland, MI

Hidden Creek sits in a quieter pocket of Holland, just four miles from downtown but still far enough away from the busier main corridors to offer tranquility. The homes are well-kept. The yards are cared for. People just simply love living here.

The clubhouse is the social center of Hidden Creek, and it doubles as a venue residents can reserve for family events. If your grandkids are visiting and you want to host everyone without rearranging your living room, you have a space for that.

Beyond the clubhouse, the community has:

  • Pickleball and shuffleboard courts
  • A community garden
  • Lots of lovely ponds and water features
  • A picnic pavilion with a grill
  • On-site management and maintenance

Pets are welcome, too! The streets are lighted, parking is off-street, and the sales office is staffed on-site if you want to walk in and ask questions without making an appointment first.

What’s It Like to Live in Holland?

Big Red, the Holland Harbor Light, is Michigan’s most photographed lighthouse and only 20 minutes from Hidden Creek

Hidden Creek’s assistant manager Madelyn has lived in Holland most of her life, and her description of the city is about as good as it gets: “Calm small town meets tourist town charm.”

Plenty of people who live here grew up here, but it’s equally attractive for folks who have visited throughout their lives and want to plant new roots. Not all vacation spots make great places to live full-time, but Holland is a notable exception.

The city has deep Dutch roots, visible in the architecture downtown and at Windmill Island Gardens. The biggest outward expression of that heritage is Tulip Time, a weeklong festival every May that brings Dutch culture to the streets of Holland. All week, visitors can indulge in their favorite fair games and food (think elephant ears, deep-fried Oreos, corn dogs, and lemonade!) while learning more about the town’s namesake.

Several parades happen during the week, including a traditional street scrubbing tradition ahead of the Kinderparade, which involves school kids from throughout the area, from Kindergarten through high school.

And maybe that speaks best to the parts of Dutch culture that people around here live every day: they’re family-oriented, incredibly open and welcoming, and happy to get together to celebrate.

Experiencing Holland from Hidden Creek

Just 4 miles away, Downtown Holland is full of local boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants, and the two-story Herrick District Library right in the middle of it all. Boatworks, a restaurant on Lake Macatawa, overlooks the entire lake and is definitely a local staple worth knowing about.

Grocery runs from Hidden Creek are easy: Meijer, Aldi, Walmart, and Sam’s Club are all within 5 minutes.

Holland State Park is about 10 minutes away, with campgrounds, walking and biking paths, and a Lake Michigan beach that draws visitors from across the Midwest. For residents at Hidden Creek, it’s just a short drive.

Who Should Consider Buying a Home in Holland?

Most buyers at Hidden Creek come from Holland and the surrounding West Michigan area, but residents from Chicago and beyond have come to call it home. The only requirement to join this beautiful community is being 55 or older.

Many residents found themselves here following a desire to downsize or simplify the material things so they can maximize quality time with family and friends. Many spent summers on the Lake Michigan shoreline for years, and when it came time to retire, they finally decided to give themselves permission to make Holland home.

Hidden Creek is family-oriented in a real sense. Residents love having a place they can have their family come visit, reserving the clubhouse for larger gatherings, playing shuffleboard with their grandkids, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings with new friends. If you’re looking for a place that has room for your life and the people in it, this is it.
