A Bayshore Summer: Events, Activities, and Community Life

BLOG Posts

Of course, summer traditions look different depending on where you live. But if you live in a Bayshore manufactured home community? It looks pretty great, no matter where in the country you are.

We’re talking pool days that start in May, Kids Zone events that give younger residents something to look forward to every week, and community gatherings that make it genuinely hard to stay inside. Once you’ve lived a Bayshore summer, you know what we mean when we say it’s special. It’s one of those things that’s hard to explain without just saying that you really ought to see it for yourself.

All the same, here’s a sneak peek at what’s on the calendar this season, and how community makes all the difference for a fun-filled summer.

The Quick Version: Summer Fun Highlights at Bayshore Manufactured Home Communities

  • Pool season and outdoor events kick off in May and run through the summer
  • Kids Zone programming keeps kids active and entertained all season long
  • Community events range from Luau parties and cookouts to root beer float socials and giveaways
  • Both kids and adults have dedicated programming, so there’s always something to do
  • Summer in a Bayshore community is built around the idea that the neighborhood itself is one of our best amenities

Summer Fun Starts in May

By the time May rolls around, the energy in our communities is already building. Schools are winding down, the heat is ramping up, and the event calendar fills fast.

This May, communities hosted flower and plant giveaways to kick off the season right, followed by Cinco de Mayo community dinners for an extra festive flair. In our 55+ communities, Mother’s Day Brunch brought generations of families together to celebrate and pamper the Moms in their lives. And it'll all cap off with the Memorial Day BBQ: the unofficial start of summer for many Bayshore residents.

Kids Zone runs all year, but the summer lineup really gears kids up for hands-on play. This month saw:

  • Teacher Appreciation Book Clubs, featuring apple-themed crafts for kids to make and give to their teachers
  • Mother’s Day card-making sessions with cookies
  • The Kickin’ It Challenge soccer goal competition
  • Slime Parties where kids got to make their own custom slime with fun add-ins from scratch. Things may have gotten messy, but hey, that’s the point!

These are the kinds of events that prove community living is just that: a group of people who don’t just live next to each other but actually look out for each other.

Turning Up the Heat in June

June is peak summer energy, and Bayshore’s community events let residents jump right in.

The Aloha Luau Party is one of the highlights of the month, with games, food, beverages, steel drums, and limbo competitions (all poolside in communities that have them!). There’s also a Father’s Day lunch and dinner event, a Root Beer Float Social where residents can build their own float with all the toppings, and a Grill Gear Giveaway for anyone who wants to level up their backyard cookouts this season.

Kids Zone in June goes just as hard. The School’s Out for Summer Party is a full-on celebration with a bounce house, outdoor games, summer giveaways, and pizza. A Free Throw Contest with prizes comes earlier in the month, along with a Father’s Day craft session and a Book Giveaway Bonanza, where kids get to pick a free book for summer reading.

Built-In Plans for the Kids

Summer break is great in theory. But ten weeks in, when you’re a working parent trying to keep kids entertained without a full schedule of camps, it gets a little more complicated.

Living in a Bayshore community takes some of that pressure off. Kids Zone events run all season long, so there’s always something on the calendar. Neighbors become built-in playmates pretty quickly, and the shared outdoor spaces and playgrounds in many communities mean there’s always somewhere to go. Summer here doesn’t have to mean screens until September.

The Neighborhood Is Its Own Amenity

In a lot of neighborhoods, summer fun is something you have to go find. You drive to the park, you pay for the pool membership, you coordinate the plans.

In a Bayshore community, so much of that is already built in. Each community’s mix of amenities is different, from parks to playgrounds, clubhouses, ball courts, swimming pools, and more. But what stays the same is the dedicated event planning that gives every resident, kid, adult, or senior, something wonderful to walk out their front door and find.

Every Season Has Its Own Celebration

These summer gatherings aren’t just filler. They’re the reason residents start learning their neighbors’ names, why kids make friends within the first weeks of summer break, and why plenty of people who move into a Bayshore community end up staying for years.

And of course, it doesn't stop when summer does. Earlier this spring, communities across the country threw Glow Parties, hosted Easter Egg Hunts and Easter Parties, fired up March Madness events, and squeezed in a Rainy Day Social and National Picnic Day for good measure. There are birdhouse painting events and breakfast socials and Oreo-building events that are exactly as chaotic and fun as they sound.

The calendar gives the season structure, but the community gives it warmth.

Want to See It For Yourself?

Summer in a Bayshore community has a way of selling itself. If you've been curious about what it's actually like to live somewhere with this much going on, there's really only one way to find out. Find a community near you and schedule a tour to come see what the season looks like from the inside.
